The parents of Pewsey skeleton bobsleigh ace Shelley Rudman watched their daughter's opening runs in the Winter Olympics this morning from their home in the village, with Shelley's six-year-old daughter Ellie.
Jack and Josie said they were delighted with Shelley's 11th place, particularly as her weight put her at a disadvantage.
Mrs Rudman said: “I’m not surprised with how things have gone because of her weight, Shelley is one of the lightest competitors and as the commentator said it’s easier for the heavier girls.
"I’m very proud of her, I’m very pleased with 11th place.”
Shelley's final two runs of the competition take place tomorrow at 3.40pm and 4.50pm.
