Two motorcycle convoys will pass through Trowbridge today to support a campaign calling for violence against women to end.

Domestic abuse charity Splitz, based at the White Horse Business Park, is organising Trowbridge’s events as part of One Billion Rising’s international day of action.

About 100 motorcyclists are expected to meet at the business park at 12.20pm with the group being split into the two convoys.

Police escorts will travel with the two groups leaving at 1.20pm and1.30pm, through Trowbridge to the town’s park. At 2pm they’ll meet to sing Break the Chain – One Billion Rising’s anthem.

Fran Lewis, founder of Splitz, is encourgaing as many people as possible to come to the park and support the campaign.

Mrs Lewis said: “I want men, women and children to take part and shake the earth.”
