ABIR Rahman scored the only goal as Blunsdon FC secured a 1-0 home victory over South Cerney.
The home side managed to beat the weather as the Under 16 Division Two game went ahead despite the recent bout of wet weather but it looked as if the two sides couldn’t be separated as they went in at the break all-square.
However, in the second half, Blunsdon produced some good football, which allowed Rahman to pop up and score the winning goal to secure the points.
In Under 11 Division Two, Stratton and Wanborough shared the points in a very competitive match, which ended 3-3.
Wanborough opened the scoring midway through the first half through Tom Moore and held on until the break. Stratton equalised through Jack Walklett after the interval and Paul Amoni added a second shortly after to give Stratton the lead for the first time.
Wanborough’s Tom Moore converted from the spot before Kyle White scored his first goal of the season but, in the dying minutes, Wanborough equalised thanks to Jake Hammond’s header from a corner.
In the Under 13 County Cup, a phenomenal team effort saw Ferndale Rodbourne YCFC earn a place in the semi-final draw with a 2-1 win against a well-organised Croft Juniors Red team.
After a goalless first half, Croft took the lead but two goals from Callum Barrett and determined, goalkeeping from Dan Argrave helped Ferndale win the tie.
