The Marlborough British Legion branch has had another successful year of fundraising for the Poppy Appeal and is looking for new members so it can raise even more during the First World War centenary year.

The branch has raised just over £11,100 for the appeal, up around five per cent from 2012.

Branch chairman Alec Light said: “I would like to thank all the volunteers who gave their time and braved the wet weather to help with the fundraising.”

Arctic Convoy veteran John O’Keefe achieved another personal best by raising more than £610.
