TWO lanes of the roundabout on the junction of the A419 and junction 15 of the M4 are currently closed following a three-vehicle collision at around 4.20pm.

Severe disruption is expected as police, fire and ambulance services are in attendance. One man has been medically trapped in his vehicle and is being removed safely by fire crews.

Insp Lindsey Winter, of Wiltshire Police, said: “This incident is expected to cause serious traffic related issues. We have still got units on the road travelling to the scene, with the fire service also in attendance.

“The location is going to cause huge difficulties with traffic. Two lanes are currently closed on the roundabout, and there is a possibility that all lanes will require closing.

“Three units are on site already with another on its way. There are some injuries involved.”

A spokesman for Wiltshire Fire and rescue said: “We were not called to the incident until 4.30pm after the ambulance service called for our help. There are three vehicles involved, including two cars and one van.

“One man is medically trapped in his vehicle and efforts are being made to release him using hydraulic cutting equipment.”
