Artist Pat Drinkwater has set up his own display featuring 24 carat gold-plated wire copper trees at his home in Trowbridge.

Former scrap merchant, Mr Drinkwater, 76, of Longfield House, has been making the pieces worth between £1,000 and £2,000 for 40 years.

He is looking for somewhere in Trowbridge to display his work but in the meantime has set up his own exhibition.

Mr Drinkwater, who also sculpts, said: “Anyone who wants to come and look at the display is more than welcome and perhaps they might want to use them as part of an exhibition in the town.”

He said making the trees was an elaborate process and time-consuming.

Mr Drinkwater, who lives with wife Kate, has exhibited the trees before in London art galleries.
