FORMER Miss Swindon Ela Good is running this year’s Miss Wiltshire competition.

The beauty queen who went on to the finals for Miss England in June last year was asked to run the competition in the county after the organisers were impressed with her work.

The 24-year-old said: “I was Miss Swindon 2012/2013 and I was in the finals for Miss England last June.

“The organisers asked me to take on the competition because I was too old to take part and because the previous person couldn’t run it any more.

“I took part mainly because of the opportunity to do something for charity. I raised about £4,000 for charity.”

Ela is trying to encourage as many people as possible to take part in the competition, which could help youngsters aged from 16 to 24 progress through the competition to become Miss World.

She said: “It’s a good thing for people who want to boost their modelling career, or who are thinking about a career in presenting. It’s good for people who want to feed back to their community too.

“The current Miss World is taking part in competitions all over the world so it’s also a good opportunity to get a career for life and travel everywhere.”

This year’s finals will be held on April 27 at the De Vere hotel. Auditions will be held on March 22 and March 23.
