A POPULAR dog walking spot has had to be closed to the public because fallen trees have made it unsafe.
Pewsey Parish Council closed the Scotchel on Wednesday after discovering three large trees were leaning against other trees and fallen trees were blocking the footpath.
Coun Terry Eyles said: “It’s unsafe so we can’t have people walking through there because we don’t know what might happen. It’s just a temporary measure and the contractor has gone away now to see what he can do but it’s going to be a pretty big job.”
Clearance works will be taking place as soon as possible.
