CALOR LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION: Robins draw blank but Foster content with point
FROME Town chief Adrian Foster thinks his side could easily have nicked a win in last weekend’s goalless draw with Biggleswade Town.
Robins winger Kris Miller came closest to breaking the deadlock, smacking an effort against the post midway through the second period before curling a free kick on to the crossbar late on.
But the two sides couldn’t be separated at Badgers Hill, leaving boss Foster happy to settle for a point.
“They were a big, physical side, who came to try and stop us playing football.
“They just hit it long and didn’t want to get the ball down and play,” said the Frome manager.
“We did have a few chances but I thought that a draw was definitely a fair result in the end.
“I was happy with a point. It keeps the rebuilding of Frome going and it’s nice to see us defend well and pick up a clean sheet.”
Frome have lost the services of on-loan Swindon Town youngster Mark Francis, who is expected to be out for the remainder of the season with a hip injury.
That means Robins chief Foster may consider searching for further attacking reinforcements.
He said: “Mark Francis won’t be with us now, which is a shame, and if someone gets injured, then I may have to look to bring someone in.
“I’ll be speaking to Mark Cooper at Swindon Town about the possibility of other loan players but we’ll take our time and see what happens.”
Frome were due to travel to Poole Town in the Calor League Premier Division last night.
Defender Rhys Baggridge will be serving the first of a two-match ban when Hitchin Town visit Badgers Hill tomorrow.
