Prosecutors have dropped the case against a woman who was charged with going to a dogging site with a child.

Louise Jones, 41, whose husband Michael Gwyther was jailed for life in 2012 for series of sex offences, was due to face trial on the matter.

But, before a jury could be sworn in at Swindon Crown Court, prosecutors offered no evidence against the 41-year-old and the judge returned a formal not guilty verdict.

Jones, of White Horse Road, Cricklade, had always maintained she was also a victim of her deviant husband who abused three young girls, one from the age of 12.

She had been accused of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child under the age of 16 in February 2011.

Gwyther of Haywards Place, Easterton, was jailed for public protection in December 2012 and cannot seek parole until late 2018.

He admitted six rapes, causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, three counts of sexual activity with a child and three of making an indecent photo of a child.

The pervert was caught after the mum of one of his victims saw inappropriate messages from him on her daughter's computer.

When she spoke to the girl she told how he had touched her when he gave her a lift home from a youth club.

Another girl who also had lifts from his also told a similar story before a third girl, who had been more seriously abused, came forward.

He had taken that girl to a dogging site, where strangers have sex with each other, and Jones was said to have joined them on one occasion.
