Wiltshire will take part in a coordinated global ceremony tomorrow, as flags are raised across the world to celebrate Commonwealth Day.

The Queen will ‘break’ the Commonwealth Flag outside Westminster Abbey on Monday, with over 500 flags then raised across the UK.

General Sir Roderick Cordy-Simpson, Deputy Lieutenant of Wiltshire, will represent the county at a ceremony outside County Hall, Trowbridge, at 9.45am, where he will be joined by Wiltshire Council chairman Caroline Crisp in raising the flag.

Members of the public are encouraged to come along to witness the ceremony.
