MP Claire Perry has written to the Government minister for children and families to find financial help for Devizes Opportunity Centre.

Devizes MP Mrs Perry has pledged her support for our Give Us A Chance appeal and praised manager Betty Newman and her staff for their work.

She was surprised earlier this year to find out from the Gazette that the centre had lost Government funding of £10,000 a year, which came from its Aiming High for Disabled Children grant.

She has written to minister Edward Timpson to find out if there are any other Government funding sources that can help the centre.

She has also written to Mrs Newman to praise the work carried out by the centre and to offer help with future fundraising efforts.

Money has continued to pour in for our appeal and this week included a cheque for £1,000 from an anonymous Devizes businessman.
