Children from all over the Devizes area will be able to try out new sports during Devizes Lions Club’s sports coaching at various venues on March 29 and 30.
More than 450 children in school years 4 to 8 have taken up the Lions’ invitation to take part in the events, at Devizes School, Nursteed Community School, North Wilts Golf Club, Calne Leisure Centre, Pewsey Vale Riding Centre, Devizes Tennis Club, Dauntsey’s School, Devizes Budo Club and Devizes Bowls Club.
Sports covered include archery, golf, fencing, gymnastics, table tennis, trampolining, mountain biking, synchronised swimming, horse-riding, tennis, volleyball, athletics, hockey, canoeing and badminton.
Lion Jerry King said: “The children will be given an opportunity to try sports under the teaching of qualified coaches for a modest contribution.”
