A team of six-formers from a Chippenham school used the bare facts of public speaking to win their place in the South West district final of a Youth Speaks competition.
The team of Year 12 students from Hardenhuish spoke on the subject of Why Nude is not Rude when they competed at Sheldon School against four other teams in the semi-finals.
Chairman Sara Bevan, speaker Hannah Ashbridge and Sebastian Turner faced questions from the audience after their presentation.
At the end of the evening they were presented with their award by Chippenham Mayor Sylvia Gibson and Eric Sambell, the past district governor of Rotary District 1200.
Hardenhuish’s intermediate public speaking team finished second after losing to St Laurence School, Bradford on Avon.
