A MAN who repeatedly breached a restraining order has been remanded in custody so a psychiatric report can be prepared.

Richard Kidner admitted flouting the ban on five occasions in less than a week in October last year.

But after hearing the 64-year-old was deemed unfit to be brought to court by the prison authorities the case against him was adjourned.

Judge Philip Wassall, sitting at Swindon Crown Court, ordered a psychiatric report be carried out on the defendant while he is in custody.

But if one cannot be done in a few weeks then Kidner may be sentenced without one because of the length of time he has spent on remand.

Cathy Thornton, defending, said she was trying to arrange the medical report to be prepared and pointed out her client had been inside for five months.

Kidner, of Bishopsfield, Cricklade, pleaded guilty to five counts of breaching a restraining order.

He admitted going to an address in Hankerton, near Malmesbury, twice on Sunday, October 13, then twice on the Tuesday and once on Wednesday, October 16.

The judge adjourned the case to Wednesday, April 23 and remanded him in custody until then.
