GROUPS who promote healthy living will showcase the valuable work they do throughout Swindon to coincide with an international awareness day.
World Health Day, which is being held next Monday, is an annual event organised by the World Health Organisation to raise awareness of conditions and diseases that affect millions of people across the world. This year’s theme is focusing on preventing and controlling insect-spread diseases such as malaria and dengue.
To mark the awareness day, the Central Library will host its own health day featuring a number of stands from organisations between 10.30am and 2pm.
The council’s Health Ambassadors, MIND and the Service User Network are just some of the groups offering advice and guidance as well as information about their services.
For more information or if you would like your organisation to have a stand, contact Leon Flower on 01793 463790 or email: lflower@swindon.gov.uk.
