WIGS, wacky hairdos and hats were the order of the day at Rushall Primary School last Wednesday as pupils raised money for children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

Pupils and staff were invited to come to school wearing the fun head gear in exchange for a £1 donation.

Charlotte Archer, teaching assistant and school council co-ordinator, said: “By taking part in Wig Wednesday we have helped to raise awareness of the impact of cancer treatment on the lives of children and young people, and raising money to help fund CLIC Sargent’s services for them.

“National Wig Wednesday is on May 21but we decided to hold ours earlier due to other events already in our diary.

“The day was a huge success, raising £105.”
