MORE than £200 was raised for Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Yorkshire Air Ambulance after a fun day at Gorse Hill Baptist Church.

Visitors helped to raise £280 for the two charities after holding an all day fun day on Saturday.

Organised by Lisa Stevens, 30, from Peatmoor, visitors to the church trailed in from 11am to 4pm to pick up goods from a range of table top stalls.

Sophie Curtis, from Penhill, who helepd to organise the event, said: “I thought it went really well over all and I think we did raise a lot of money. As long as everyone had fun as well then it was worth it. There was quite a lot of people who came along, it got busy at times and then it got quieter and everyone seemed to have a good time.” The 19-year-old had arranged for a number of stalls to be held during the day to help raise the money. She has held fundraising days in the past for various charities, and this time decided to raise money for the Air Ambulance.

She said: “We had a couple of table top stalls selling lots of different things and there were lots of activities and games for people to do and there was a representative from Avon and there were a few ladies selling Easter hampers.

“I wanted to do something for the Air Ambulance because they do such good work.”
