THAMESDOWN bus services across Swindon will be running on a Saturday or Sunday timetable for the duration of the Easter holiday weekend.

On Good Friday, April 18, a Saturday service will be in operation between 8am and 6pm on Services 1, 1A, 2, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19 and 22. There will be a special service on Service 16, serving the Great Western Hospital.

On Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20, all services will be operating as normal.

On Easter Monday, April 21, Sunday timetables will apply.

Paul Jenkins, managing director of Thamesdown, said: “The Easter weekend is the perfect time to leave the car at home and try the bus instead.

“Shoppers looking to visit the new Waitrose store in Middle Wichel will be able to travel there across the Bank Holiday weekend thanks to the extended Service 15, which is a direct route from Haydon Wick, through the town centre and Old Town to and from the store.”

The Family for a Fiver ticket allows one day’s unlimited travel across the Swindon urban area for up to two adults and three children, for the reduced holiday and weekend price of £5. Tickets can be bought on the bus from the driver and will be available all through the school Easter holiday as well as over the Easter weekend.

The Thamesdown Travel Shop in Fleming Way will be closed on Good Friday and Bank Holiday Monday.
