These are the terrible scenes from this evening's accident at Fyfield, near Marlborough, that left the A4 blocked for several hours.
The two-vehicle crash happened outside the Fyfield Garage filling station when, unconfirmed reports from the scene, say one vehicle suffered a burst tyre sending it careering into the path of an on coming vehicle.
Police, firefighters, ambulance crews and the air ambulance were sent to help, and cutting equipment was used to free victims from their vehicles, some of them reported to be children, including a baby.
The A4 was closed while the rescue took place, but it is now said to be open.
