RELEGATION from Division Two may have been confirmed for Bratton many weeks ago but after last week's mauling at the hands of Bradford United Reserves, Dave Griffin’s side were hoping to bring the curtain down on their season with a victory away at fellow strugglers Worton & Cheverell.
Worton, who have been struggling for numbers in recent weeks, defeated their fellow villagers 4-1 with all of their goals coming from Craig Campbell.
Campbell opened the scoring on five minutes from the penalty spot before Liam Griffiths drew Bratton level on 11 minutes.
But the hosts fell behind again in controversial fashion on the 36th minute when Dave Jones was adjudged to have handled the ball when it actually hit him the face, leaving him with a bloodied nose, and from the resulting free kick, Campbell netted his second.
Campbell’s third of the game camein the 44th minute and he completed the scoring deep into first half stoppage time.
