Langley Fitzurse Primary School travelled across Europe and the Middle East for a day in India.

Children at the Kington Langley school have been learning about weather, with a focus on the climate of India, from its deserts to glaciers to tropical rainforests.

Seven to nine-year-olds took part in an Indian Day before the Easter holidays.

Class teacher Suki Pascoe said: “Both girls and boys were keen to try on the colourful Indian clothes, and enjoyed dressing me in a beautiful sari. They were amazed at how long the fabric was and how difficult it was to tie. The children all had a go at carrying pots on their heads, with variable results. It was lucky they were empty!”

They also learned to prepare a variety of Indian dishes with ingredients they had not seen before.
