The hit 1960s band The Move, best known for numbers like I Can Hear The Grass Grow and Flowers In The Rain, are bound for Devizes this month.

The band, still with original members Bev Bevan and Trevor Burton, will perform at the Long Street Blues Club at the Conservative Club on Saturday, April 26, with support from local singer/guitarist Claire Kearley.

Ian Hopkins, who runs the blues club with his brother Richard, said: “We are very delighted to be included in their first major UK tour in their current line-up. Since they got back together just over a year ago they have created such a buzz at every live gig they have played.

“Still fronted by original members Bev Bevan and Trevor Burton, we are in for an absolute treat.

“Besides The Move, Bev was the drum powerhouse behind ELO, one of the most successful British bands of the 1970s. He is in constant demand and most drummers in the know regard him as one of the finest around.”

Tickets are £15 from Devizes Books, the Conservative Club and Sound Knowledge in Marlborough.
