Muriel and Eddie Poole are the happy winners of £500 worth of Sainsbury’s vouchers, provided by Persimmon Homes, in the Gazette’s Easter competition.
The Pooles, both 86, live on Newall Tuck Road in Monkton Park, Chippenham, and it’s not the first time she Mrs Poole has struck it lucky.
She said: “I am a lucky person, and the Gazette & Herald has been very good to me. I won a gold necklace once, and I used to send the crossword every week and I won that several times.”
Mrs Poole, who used to work as solicitor Daniel Awdry’s personal assistant, and her husband, a stock controller at Westinghouse, are in need of a new toaster and will also spend the vouchers on food.
“We shop all the time at Sainsbury’s anyway so it won’t be difficult,” she said.
