WESSEX Male Choir is looking to recruit men over 18 to the group.

The choir is young in comparison to other male choirs and welcomes diversity.

Prospective choristers do not need previous experience of singing in a choir – many of the current choristers had never sang in a choir before they joined Wessex.

The choir recently bowled over Irish audiences, led by new Musical Director Katrine Reimers.

Katrine studied music at King’s College, Cambridge and has conducted numerous vocal groups across the country, from community choirs to choral societies and professional choruses as well as working with English National Opera and the Royal Opera.

She said: “It’s a joy to lead this fantastic group of singers, whose commitment, talent and creative receptivity show again and again why they make up one of the best male choirs in the UK.”

If you think you might enjoy singing, find out more by going along to one of the choir’s rehearsals at Abbey Meads Church Hall from 7.30pm on Tuesdays. Alternatively, details are available at www.wessexmalechoir.co.uk.

The choir will be performing at Steam on July 5 at 7.30pm, with artists from MJ-UK Music and Arts. Tickets are available from Swindon Information Office, Swindon Central Library or Derek Jones on 01793 825378 or tickets@wessexmalechoir.co.uk
