People have the chance to take to the road on their bikes as part of Cycle Wiltshire Sportive in Salisbury on May 3.

The event, which starts at Five Rivers Leisure Centre at 8.30am, is open to cyclists of all abilities and people have the choice of riding 20, 64 or 100 miles. There is also a one-mile route for children and families.

The fun continues on May 4 with the Cycle Wiltshire Grand Prix, which sees 100 elite riders taking part. The event starts at 11am in Wilton, taking in the villages of Burcombe, Barford St Martin and Compton Cham-berlayne, before finishing back in Wilton at around 3pm.

People who participate in the Sportive have the chance to win a seat in the Cycle Wiltshire director’s car that travels ahead of the cyclists in the Cycle Wiltshire Grand Prix. All they have to do is bring their number to the grand prix race to be entered into a draw.

Jane Scott, leader of Wilt-shire Council, said: “Our legacy partnership is all about invigorating the local economy, bringing communities together and getting more people active and this event will do just that.”
