DAVE Slattery got two goals as Fratellos beat Stockton & Codford 2-0 to win the Wiltshire County Junior Cup final.

The first came as Slattery delivered a free-kick from wide that evaded everyone to sneak in the far post.

The second was more deliberate, with Slattery showing excellent composure to steer the ball past the Stockon keeper from the edge of the area.

Fratellos’ captain Ajay Sahota was delighted with his side’s performance and the win.

He said: “We were always on top, especially after the first 10-15 minutes where our keeper (Paul Rothwell) had to be make couple of saves.

“We were always the better side, they were just putting pressure on through effort, we were the more classy side.

“We could have upped it if we wanted to, we were coasting. In the last five minutes, our ‘keeper had to save a one-on-one, had that got in it would have been a nervy last few.

“We won the league with a 100 per cent record as well, I don’t think anyone’s done that before, so we had the champagne flowing in the changing room.”

Danny Hyde picked up the man-of-the-match award.

Elsewhere, in the Swindon & District League, Queensfield beat Village Inn to ensure they finished second in the Premier Division.

In Division One, champions Lower Stratton beat Larry’s Plaice 5-2 in their final game of the season.
