Long tailbacks after car fire causes lane of A303 to be shut

Police have reopened a lane of the dual carriageway on the A303 westbound, near the junction with the A36 in the Wylye Valley, after it was closed because of a car fire.

The lane was closed at 8.29am today, causing long tailbacks.

It was closed to allow a fire crew to attend to the car, which was parked in a lay-by. The lane was then reopened at 9am.
