Residents young and old celebrated the official opening of the newly refurbished village play area in Easterton last week.
The enlarged playground, which now includes a climbing frame, slide, roundabout and large swing to complement the existing equipment, was formally opened by Wiltshire councillor Philip Whitehead with imaginative tales of pirate ships and ponies.
The alterations were funded by a grant from the Big Lottery Fund, and Easterton Parish Council.
Parish council chairman Chris Saunders said: “The new facilities provide the village with a fabulous play area which we hope will be enjoyed by the younger members of our parish for years to come.”
Following the official opening, villagers were treated to coffee and cake while the children enjoyed playing on the new equipment.
