A group of talented youngsters from Stagecoach Trowbridge will be living a dream in July when they make a trip to Disneyland Paris to perform as part of the Disney pre-parade.

Sixteen students from the theatre arts school, aged 11-17, will appear in front of thousands of visitors as part of the Disney Performing Arts Onstage programme.

They submitted three filmed audition pieces to Disney, before waiting several months to see if they had made the cut.

Now they’ve learned they have beaten off competition from hundreds of thousands of other entries, with their final musical theatre performance of I’m A Believer from Shrek clinching it with the judges.

Katie Williams, 15, a student at Stagecoach Trowbridge, said: “To be part of the parade really is a dream come true and I feel really lucky as I’ll get to share the experience with some of my closest friends.”

As well as appearing ahead of the world-famous characters’ parade through the park, the students will perform their own 30-minute routine on stage in the evening. They will also get an opportunity to spend a day at the park going on the rides.

Principal of Stagecoach Trowbridge Freddie Under-wood said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for the students and I’m thrilled for them, as they worked really hard on their audition pieces in class.

“To be one of only nine or ten schools to take part is amazing for the children and the school.”
