ELLIS Green has proved she’s a stylist star for the future after winning a major regional award.

The 23-year-old, who works at Knock Em Dead hairdresser, in Morley Street, entered the Span Development annual competition and awards ceremony in Oxford and came away a winner.

The competition theme this year was futuristic and the 150 trainee stylists from Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire had to design a complete look as well as produce the hairstyle, within 45 minutes in front of 200 spectators.

Ellis, of Haydon Wick, said she was delighted to have won.

“It was amazing when they said I had won the award, I couldn’t believe it,” she said.

“I had done quite a lot of preparation and I definitely want to do more competitions now.

“The salon were really, really happy too.”

Salon manager Michele Green said: “Ellis did really well under pressure. There was a 45 minute time in which to produce the total look in front of more than 200 spectators, before being judged by industry experts.

“We are very proud as a salon to have not only entered but to have Ellis come first place.”
