DENNIS Smith was the pick of the Swindon performers during the latest weekend of PDC action.
The Rodbourne player began the weekend in impressive form as he secured his place at the Austrian Darts Open by winning through two matches in Wigan, although there was disappointment for Johnny Haines, Mark Cox and Chris Aubrey as they all fell at the final hurdle.
Smith also made it through to round three of the Players Championship event the following day, before losing to Justin Pipe, which was enough to earn £500.
Haines put his earlier disappointment behind him to earn £1,000 on Saturday, although none of the Swindon players were able to pick up money yesterday.
