Plot a blooming design in Trowbridge

Friends of Trowbridge Park have joined forces with Trowbridge in Bloom to invite community groups and organisations to adopt two small plots in Trowbridge Town Park.

The plots of about six square metres each, could be adopted and planted in a design and style of their choice, with the exception of formal flower bed designs.

The project encourages entrants to consider a wide range of designs, including rock gardens, herb gardens and water features, and groups who register an interest will be asked to submit an entry form by May 31.

Groups could be drawn from residents’ associations, Neighbourhood Watch schemes, schools, colleges, youth clubs and others with commercial organisations, who want to support them.

Sharl Adabashi, a member of the Friends of Trowbridge Park committee, said: “It is hoped that this pilot scheme will give amateur gardeners in our community the chance to express their creative talents.

“It is a great opportunity to further enhance the Town Park for the benefit of visitors and is also a way for residents of Trowbridge to establish stronger links with the park.”

To register an interest or to arrange a site visit, email or leave contact details at the Trowbridge Information Centre at the Civic Centre.

Once entry forms have been submitted, successful entrants will be notified by July 13. Work on the plots is then expected to start this autumn.
