Puplils at St Dunstan in Calne won a bronze award by improving their maths skills at an impressive rate.

The pupils have been taking part in the Catch Up Numeracy programme, to help pupils make progress and realise their potential.

It was introduced in November 2011 by not-for-profit firm Catch Up, which aims to help those who find maths or English difficult.

Tests looked at maths levels before and two terms after the project.

Acting headteacher Tony Cook said: “We are all so pleased to have the hard work of staff and pupils recognised and we hope this underlines the high quality of learning available at St Dunstan.”

Numeracy coordinator Zoe Newman said: “The participants are more confident in maths and now have a don’t say no give it a go approach to their learning.”
