A choir from Devizes will hope for harmony in Europe when they set off today for a twinning weekend in Waiblingen, Germany.

The Sing Alive choir will perform alongside Chante-maine from Mayenne in France and Philharmonis-cher from Waiblingen during the three-day trip.

Sing Alive choirmaster Sian Penlington said: “We have been a part of the Devizes twinning arrangement since 2010 and have visited and hosted guests from Mayenne, so we are delighted we can complete our connection with a trip to Waiblingen.

“We speak different languages, but share a love of music and singing that unites all three groups.”

A total of 17 singers from the Devizes choir, which meets on Thursdays in term time at Devizes School, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, will make the twinning journey.
