Hunting high and low for Trowbridge scarecrows was so much fun...
Families flocked to the inaugural scarecrow hunt at The Grove Primary School in Trowbridge, and there are already plans to make the event even bigger next year.
The Friends of Grove School organised the trail, which featured 49 scarecrows around the school and in neighbouring streets, to raise funds.
Scarecrows were themed around animated characters, including those from Disney films and cartoon TV shows, and were made by pupils and local people.
The event raised more than £700, with the prize for the best scarecrow going to pupils Amy and William Self, who dressed their scarecrow as a minion from Despicable Me.
Kathryn Curtis, who helped organise the event, said: “It was absolutely fantastic and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The children loved making the scarecrows and we are definitely going to do it again next year.
“It was so successful that next year we are looking at holding it over two days. We want to thank everyone who came along or made a scarecrow, especially St John’s Church, which provided refreshments and the Sunday club which made five scarecrows.”
