Calne Town Council is looking for people with local knowledge and expertise to contribute to the town’s community neighbourhood plan.
The plan is a document setting out where homes and offices should be built and what any new buildings should look like.
The plan area includes Calne town and Calne without parish, two areas which share common concerns over development pressures, transport and employment.
A steering group is up and running, comprising residents and town and parish councillors, but the group is looking for more volunteers.
Clare Harris, of Calne Town Council, said: “We’re embracing the Localism Act and are set to work on a neighbourhood plan to safeguard and future-proof the Calne community area.
“For far too long, communities have not had a big enough say in what happened in their local area, whether it be about what happens to local amenities, how local services are delivered, or how new development is planned.
“Now is our chance. Let’s not waste it.”
To get involved in the planning, local people can email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (01249) 814000.
