Part of the A366 remains closed between Wingfield and Farleigh Hungerford after a Ford Focus collided with a telegraph pole this morning at around 6.40am.

The telegraph pole landed on the car and the woman driver was taken to hospital, although it is not thought that she suffered serious injuries.

Police initially feared that the pole was an electric pylon and a Southern Electricity team were called to the scene.

It was subsequently found to be a BT telegraph pole and BT engineers are at the scene.
