Chippenham Town Council will be co-opting a new member at its meeting on June 24.
The successful candidate will fill a vacancy left by Ian Keasey and represent Monkton Ward for the rest of the council’s four-year term until May 2017.
Town councillors need to be over 18 and either live within three miles of the town or have a business interest there.
Sue Wilthew, chief executive of the council, said: “Getting involved and helping with local issues is a very worthwhile way of making a contribution to the area in which we live and work.”
