Medal-winning Olympian Laura Tomlinson shared her sporting experiences with pupils at her old school in Calne last week.

The 29-year-old dressage rider, who won team gold and individual bronze at the London Olympics 2012, studied at St Mary’s school from the age of 12.

In her talk Mrs Tomlinson likened the camaraderie in the Olympic Village to her time boarding at St Mary’s, when she also represented Calne in county hockey.

Pupils enjoyed hearing her description of the weeks surrounding the 2012 games and her success on her horse Alf.

Mrs Tomlinson said: “It was fun going back and talking to the pupils who are sitting where I was just over ten years ago, although it does make me feel a little older.”
