TEN volunteers from the Midcounties Co-operative painted the community hall in Old Town’s Savernake Street as part of the Involve Swindon initiative yesterday.
Involve Swindon, which helps businesses support their employees to share their time and skills with local charities and community groups, will celebrate it’s tenth anniversary at the Marriott Hotel next month.
On June 26 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, businesses and charities around the town will throw a party to say thank you to the group that has brought them together.
Established in 2004 by Tony Martin of Zurich, Involve Swindon is hosted by two charities – Volunteer Centre Swindon and Voluntary Action Swindon – with a steering group of people from the private sector.
Tony said: “Seeing the collaboration between the employers, as well as the amazing results achieved for our local community, gives me a massive buzz.
“Setting up and chairing Involve Swindon is one of my proudest achievements in the 17 years I have been supporting local communities through Zurich Community Trust.”
