THE British Embassy is providing support to the family of George Alexander Coogan Bright who died on Thursday after falling from a balcony of a Thailand hotel.

Mr Bright, 24, from Swindon, fell from a room near the top of the Pattaya Hilton Hotel, in the early hours, landing on a second floor balcony.

Ambulance crews were called to the hotel, based above the Central Festival Pattaya Beach shopping centre, but Mr Bright was pronounced dead at the scene.

A British Embassy spokesperson said: “We can confirm the death of the British national in Thailand on Thursday and we are providing consular support to his family. They have asked for privacy at this difficult time.”

The embassy would not reveal whether Mr Bright was on holiday in Thailand or if plans are being made for his body to be brought back to England.

Police in Thailand are investigating the circumstances leading up to Mr Bright’s death.
