Friends and family of Marlborough stalwart Vicky Philpott, who died of cancer in March last year, dressed in pink to run the Race for Life in her memory.

Mrs Philpott’s daughters, Mollie and Hattie, sister-in-law Julie Gray, nieces Kim and Jo Wingham Gray, best friend Niki Long, god daughter Charlotte Long and her sisters Juliette Long and Fran Long, came formed the Ducks Divas team for the race.

On Sunday they donned pink tutus, wigs and lots of glittery makeup to take part in the 5K Race for Life in Lydiard Park, Swindon.

Charlotte Long, of Kingsbury Street, said: “It was really fantastic to see so many people out raising money for Cancer Research. It was a great day to remember Vicky.”

Jo managed to hobble across the finish line just few days after breaking her toe. So far the team have raised £1,132.

Mrs Philpott, 48, was known for her work with Marlborough Carnival, the Friends of Savernake Hospital and Marlborough Penguins Swimming Club.
