Wendy Thorburn, lead science technician at Kingdown School, Warminster, is celebrating after becoming a Reg-istered Scientist at the Science Council, an organisation that brings together professional bodies across science.
Mrs Thorburn and her team provide technical support for teachers and students at the school. She said: “I have always been passionate about the sciences and love working at in the Science department.
“To be recognised by the Science Council is a great honour and I am extremely proud to have been awarded Registered Scientist status.”
Last year Mrs Thorburn was awarded Chemistry Science Technician of the Year by the Royal Society of Chemistry and Leading Scientist by the Science Learning Centre on top of the national Rolls Royce prize of £6,000 won by the science team for their ‘One click Science’ resource project.
