24-7 Staffing in Chippenham has celebrated 10 years in the recruitment industry.

Since it formed in May 2004, the company has helped more than 4,500 registered candidates find new employment opportunities.

Some 50 clients and candidates celebrated on May 23 with champagne and a trip down memory lane.

Twenty-five of the firm’s 300-plus clients have been with them since the start, and each of those was presented with a bottle of 10 years matured Glengoyne malt whisky.

Director Melody Thompson said: “It’s been pretty nostalgic putting a scrapbook together and reliving the years. Thank you to all our clients and candidates who have been part of the journey.

“Those who have been loyal throughout have been instrumental in the growth of the business. Our client manager Jo Ball worked for three months for nothing at first to help out, she is an absolute diamond.”

Mrs Thompson and her husband Julian, who is 24-7 Staffing’s managing director, used money set aside for a house extension to start up the business instead.

It paid off, being made a finalist for Wiltshire Business of the Year in 2005, just one year after opening.

A second office, in Yate, came in 2007, and in 2011, 24-7 Staffing moved from the Causeway to the purpose-built Timber Street office, doubling its staff head count to eight and enabling the business to grow by 74 per cent in terms of turnover.

Now it has 13 staff and offer recruitment opportunities in six sectors.

There are plans to open a third office in 2015.
