After 20 years as a mobile hair stylist and eight years in her own salon in Littleton Panell, Sarah Hatcher is headed for the centre of Devizes.
Mother-of-two Mrs Hatcher has opened her Heads on High hair salon at the former Strakers auction office in St John’s Street after she was given notice by her landlady in High Street, Littleton Panell.
Mrs Hatcher said: “I was given notice in February after a planning application was put in to turn the shop into a two-bedroom cottage and had to move out when the lease ran out at the end of April, so it was full speed ahead to find new premises. I Googled shops for rent in Devizes and the one in St John’s Street seemed perfect.
“I’ll be really sad to leave Littleton Panell. I’ve had brilliant neighbours here and the village is really sad to lose a business.
“But I am looking forward to working in the centre of Devizes. It is a smashing town and really seems to be thriving these days.”
Mrs Hatcher will be bringing her fellow stylist Alice Sadd, who has been working with her for a year.
Mrs Hatcher lives in Market Lavington and has two children, Joshua, 17, and 14-year-old Bethany.
