Good weather and a record number of entries helped boost the funds of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

The association’s companion dog show on The Green, Devizes, on June 1, was one of their best ever and raised just over £800 for the charity.

The show had a total of 103 entrants and many dogs were entered into more than one class.

As well as the Devizes area, entries came from Bristol and Reading.

There were pedigree classes and novelty classes. In the novelty section the most entries, 41, were in the most appealing eyes category.

Idris Griffiths, secretary of the Devizes and district branch of Guide Dogs, said: “It was a fantastic day, especially the weather. Thank you to everyone who supported us.”
