GP surgeries are guving out advice to patients concerned about failing memory.
Memory awareness volunteer Diane Gooch will be out and about in surgeries to chat to anyone who might be concerned about their own memory or that of a relative. She is one of a team of volunteers trained by Alzheimer’s Support in a project funded by Comic Relief.
She will be at Market Lavington Surgery on June 19 from 9am to 11am, at Courtyard Surgery in Littleton Panell on June 26 from 9.30am to 11.30am and on June 27 at St James Surgery, Devizes, from 9.30am to 11.30am. There is no need to book.
Volunteer co-ordinator Annie Clayton said: “A lot of people we speak to go away feeling reassured, either because their symptoms are normal, or because if they do decide to see their GP, they know they will be taken seriously.”
