UP to 250 runners are expected in Chippenham next Wednesday evening, for the Longest Day 10k race.
Now in its third year, the race attracts novices and keen runners and the first man and woman to finish each wins £100.
It is a predominantly flat course, from Stanley Park sports ground along quiet country roads to Monkton Park, then to Baydon’s Lane and back down London Road.
Race director James Higgs, of organiser DB Max, said: “We’ve already had 140 pre-entries and we’re expecting about 250 this time. ”
Specsavers, sponsor of the 10k for the third time, will be racing to raise money for the Wiltshire Blind Association.
