Consultation delayed on Wiltshire fire service merger
Public consultation on the proposed merger of Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service with Dorset Fire Service has been postponed.
The consultation was due to begin on Monday but at a meeting yesterday the Wiltshire and Swindon Fire Authority, comprising Wiltshire and Swindon Borough councillors, decided to postpone it.
It is understood they want more time to go through the paperwork for the consultation.
An official statement is due to be released by Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service later.
